How to Get Out of Healthcare

How to Get Out of Healthcare

July 5, 2022 in Career Change to IT, Centriq News, College Alternatives, IT Career Program / by Centriq Training

Healthcare workers play an important role in society. But we completely understand that it is easy to get burned out or overwhelmed in this demanding work environment. If you are tired of working in healthcare, a role in information technology may be for you. Healthcare workers are used to fast-paced duties, exhibit an immense amount of patience, and are excellent at helping others. These are very similar to needs in the IT industry.

Anyone from healthcare can start a new role in the IT industry whether you are a nurse, a pharmacy technician, etc.

Alternate Jobs for Nurses

There are a lot of valuable traits that those in working in healthcare possess and they are just as useful in the IT field. Patient-facing roles like those that nurses, technicians, and medical assistants are in require compassion, patience, and the ability to think on your feet. You will find that information technology asks for much of the same. When you are working as an IT professional you will interact with a variety of internal and external stakeholders on a daily basis. Clients may come to you with unexpected issues that require you to approach with a problem-solving and patient mindset. You will be helping others every day, just like you are already great at doing. The plus side is that you could be working remotely and in an environment that is much lower stress.

A career in information technology can be in your future.
