What is a Desktop Support Technician?

Desktop support technicians dip their fingers in a little bit of everything from diagnosing problems to upgrading equipment. These roles were designed to support and maintain an organization’s technology.

They can work onsite or remotely to complete tasks and are responsible for keeping the functionality of the system in line with business goals. Because of the important role they play in managing the company’s computer systems, they are often known as the backbones of the IT department.
