The Program

Centriq is uniquely qualified to help advance your IT career with more than 30 years of IT training experience. Centriq's IT Career Program is the longest running, most experienced entry-level technology training program in the country. Our revolutionary IT Career Program is designed to teach the Cybersecurity or Coding skills needed to start a new IT career in just four months, even if you have no previous technology experience. Scholarship Details

At Centriq we celebrate all backgrounds, cultures, and viewpoints within our organization and the communities we serve. We believe diversity fuels innovation and success and are pleased to offer our Diversity in Tech Scholarship. The winner receives a full-ride scholarship to attend Centriq’s Cybersecurity Specialist Program or Full Stack Coding Program. In addition to a fully paid tuition, recipients will be loaned all technology required to complete the program, including a laptop and laptop accessories.

  • To improve access to IT education and support students from diverse backgrounds.​
  • To foster an environment that empowers and values a diverse student body.​
  • To advance equity and inclusion and aid in closing the diversity gap in the tech field.​

Eligibility Criteria

1) Have access to high-speed internet for the virtual components of the program, or the ability to travel to campus daily to use Centriq's internet.

2) Demonstrate Financial Need

3) Identify as one of the following:

  • Person of color
  • Indigenous person
  • Person living with a disability (as defined by WHO)
  • Person who identifies as 2SLGBTQIA+
  • Person who identifies as a Woman

4) Live in Kansas City or St. Louis metro areas and have transportation for any on-campus courses

(If interested in on-site classes, you must live in Kansas City or St. Louis metro areas.  If interested in online classes, you can live anywhere within the United States.)

Application Checklist

Complete the application form.

2) Personal Essay (300 - 500 words)

In your essay, please describe the following

How do you meet the scholarship criteria, including financial need

3) Introduction video (1-3 minutes total)

In your video, please briefly respond to each of the questions below:

  • Who are you?
  • Why does a career in technology interest you?
  • What does diversity mean to you?
  • What would an opportunity like this mean to you?
  • Tell us about a time when you completed something that was difficult; how did you set and meet that goal?

4) Send it over!

When you're ready submit all three pieces to scholarship@centriq.com

New IT Career

In 2023, 258 students enrolled in the 12 week Cybersecurity Specialist Program. 227 students (88%) completed the program, 20 students (8%) withdrew, and 11 students (4%) went on leave.

In 2023, 4 students enrolled in the 8 week IT Support Boot Camp. 3 students (75%) completed the program and 1 student (25%) went on leave.

In 2023, 45 students enrolled in the 14 week Full Stack Coding Program. 34 students (76%) completed the program, 6 students (13%) withdrew, and 5 students (11%) went on leave.
