My name is Jerry Crow.  As a kid, I always loved building things with Legos.  I was able to take that love and passion and transfer it into computers.  I remember my first programming course and the feeling of being so lost.  I got a “C” in the class, but I was hooked. The teacher was shocked to see me back for the next course, but I was determined and got an “A.” I graduated from Missouri State University with a degree in Computer Information Systems.  I have been working in IT for 22 years.  I spent most of those years building Windows-based programs in Visual Basic.  The last seven of those years, I primarily used Java to build client specific projects and a reporting environment to interface with company products.  The company was purchased by another firm, and I received the opportunity to train at Centriq.

I’ve spent most of my professional life in the retail industry before finding a comfortable job as an Admin Assistant. While in that position my passion for technology came into full view. In both my personal and professional life people were coming to me for help with different technology problems, I enjoyed solving and learning from each one. It wasn’t easy but I knew I needed to follow this passion. So I decided to go all in. I found Centriq, quit my comfortable job, and fully immersed myself into the program. It feels a lot like free falling, but I soak up every bit of information I can along the way.

Johnny Vitale

Bio

Hello, my name is Johnny Vitale. I’ve been working at Jack Stack BBQ (one of the most successful restaurants in KC) for almost 5 years now. Before that, I did an array of labor-intensive jobs like farming and laying tile. After being President of FBLA and Student Council President of my high school I thought I had my whole life figured out with college and becoming a leader in the business world. Unfortunately, two years into college I found out that College just wasn’t right for me and I was kind of at a lost of where to go from there, or how to be successful without it. Growing up in small-town USA with parents that only knew the small-town way it was a trek to find a path to being successful on my own. Nonetheless, I continued to work hard and persevere through the young stage of my life until life started to click and make sense. I, like most, had troubles finding my passion and what I wanted to do with the rest of my life. Maybe even afraid of the success and the sacrifice it would take to get there. I realized there was nothing wrong with failing, nothing wrong with succeeding. One day it just clicked with what my core passions really were: to solve others problems, serving others with positivity and passion, and Technology. Bringing smiles to others faces and being that one difference in someone’s life that stood out from the rest.

I graduated from the University of Kansas in 2010 with a BS in Economics. I started working for a financial services company. I did that for 6 years before, I was given an opportunity by that company to train to become a software engineer and I took them up on that offer. I did that for two years before that company was bought out and I ended up at Centriq.

I grew up on the north side of St. Louis.  After being a Team Leader for 3 years at General Motors, I witnessed how robots and technology assisted in making the most physically demanding jobs easier for my team, more efficient for the plant, and safer for consumers due to the accuracy of manufacturing.  This experience was impressive and validated that there is no better time than now to pursue IT interests.

In 2018, I graduated from Rockhurst University where I studied Physics of Medicine.  I determined that becoming a doctor wasn’t what I truly wanted and decided to pursue a career in technology.  I am looking forward to being able to turn my love of building and troubleshooting computers into a lifelong career.  I will be getting married in June and could not be any happier about the exciting path my life has taken.

I graduated from Missouri State University in 2011 with a bachelor’s degree in Hospitality and Restaurant Administration. Since then I have been managing a full-service restaurant. I have always enjoyed the fast pace environment and love working with people. As I get older I am looking for a career that will challenge me as well as have opportunity for growth. My interest in technology has always been there, I just didn’t really know how to make a career out of it. After doing some research I found out about Centriq, and it seemed like the perfect fit.

I am a native Kansan, Army combat veteran, former federal civilian employee, wife and a mother of two adorable children.  My formal education and most of my federal employment experience are in law enforcement.  At my last federal job, I was the go-to person for IT-related issues in the absence of an onsite IT technician.  I enjoyed the challenge so much that I am pursuing a career overhaul through Centriq in Systems and Security Administration.

I worked in the financial services industry for 25 years, the first 5 in customer service and the next 20 years as a software developer, always learning new skills and training others.
