Bio
“I grew up in Lee’s Summit and graduated from Lee’s Summit North High School. After a couple of years of college, I didn’t feel that the environment was a fit and I was still trying to figure out what my career would look like. For the past few years I have worked exclusively in the service industry as an assistant manager. While I enjoyed this field, I knew this was not what I saw as my lifelong career. I knew that technology is a growing field which is constantly changing and evolving. My passion for computers, learning technology and troubleshooting are what influenced the direction of my desired career path. I will complete my Network Administrator Program at Centriq Training in May of 2016, and am really looking forward to applying the hands-on knowledge experience where I can contribute the technical and troubleshooting skills I have learned. I feel I would make an excellent addition to any team because I am a hard worker, driven to succeed, and learn quickly.”
Q&A
Q: Why did you decide to come to Centriq?
A: I decided to go to Centriq because I have always taken an interest in technology, and I wanted to learn more about computers and networking. I heard about Centriq through family members and decided this was the direction I wanted to pursue. I looked into the Network Administration program and loved the idea of learning a wide range of skills to keep a network up and running smoothly, as well as up to date. I know I made the right choice because the material has come naturally to me and it showed when I completed my A+ exams shortly after starting the program.
Q: What class has been your favorite so far?
A: I have enjoyed every class so far! If I had to choose my favorite, it would be Group Policy and how it links to Active Directory. I also like how an administrator can manage configurations of a network environment from a centralized infrastructure.
Q: What do you hope to do after Centriq?
A: After Centriq, I hope to find a great company where I can continue learning new skills, which will allow me to build off of what I have learned so far. My 5 year plan is to move up in the ranks and eventually manage my own team.
Q: What other interests do you have?
A: Other than my interest in technology, I love to exercise, cook, watch the Kansas City Chiefs and Royals, go hiking, swimming, and anything that includes being outdoors.
