Frequently Asked Questions
We know you’ll have questions, so we’ve tried to answer some of the most common ones here.
Where are you located?
Centriq 1740
W 92nd Street
Kansas City, Missouri 64114
Can I tour Centriq Studios before buying a package?
Yes, we would love to show you around! Please email us at centriqstudios@centriq.com to set up an appointment.
The Base and Advanced packages do not meet my needs; can I build my own studio time?
Sure! We would love to create a custom quote to fit your needs – please email us at centriqstudios@centriq.com to get started.
What is a video coach?
Our video coaches are team members who will guide you through the video process, from concept inception, to outlining, scripting, and filming day. Their job is to make the filming process as smooth and seamless as possible!
Where can I use videos that I create?
Videos can be used in many different ways to reach your target audience. Here are a few common places: social media, website, newsletters, sales/marketing email campaigns and YouTube channels.
Do you provide traveling filming services outside of your studio space?
We currently only offer services from our Kansas City studio space.
How much prep time is needed from me during the video process?
The prep time required will depend on the length, complexity, and style of your video. A 2-minute live interview, for example, will take less prep than a similar length teleprompted script.
Will I need to write a script?
Yes. You will need to provide a script to verify the video’s length before filming. Don’t worry, your video coach will be there to guide you through the process and assist with editing feedback.
What does the video process entail?
After you purchase your video package, one of our video coaches will reach out to schedule an initial coaching call. During this call, you’ll discuss the goals of your video and receive guidance on beginning script writing. Your coach will then work with you to finalize your script and provide suggestions for how to practice and prep for filming day. Once a script has been finalized, we’ll book your filming date. On filming day, our team will ensure you feel comfortable and create a great product. Post-production, you’ll receive your finished product via Dropbox.
Do I need to practice prior to filming day?
Yes, remember that your video is your chance to showcase your expertise, knowledge, and personality. Practice your presentation skills beforehand, including making eye contact, speaking clearly and concisely, and using natural gestures to convey your message. Record yourself and review the recording with someone who will provide honest feedback. Your video coach will also be available to assist with reviewing these practices as needed.
Can I bring items to customize the set to my brand?
Yes! Depending on the set design you choose, there are a variety of ways you can incorporate your branding.
How long will filming day take?
Filming day timeframes will be determined per project, but come down to a few main things: video length, video complexity, and client preparedness. We highly recommend spending a good amount of time preparing and practicing prior to filming day to maximize your studio time!
What if I’ve never been in a video?
Centriq Studio’s team of video coaches and technical staff will be there to guide you through the process, ensuring your video experience is positive regardless of your level of experience.
What if I’ve never used a teleprompter?
Recording from a teleprompter does take a little bit of getting used to, but there are free tools available online to help you practice. With some time dedicated to practicing, you will be full of confidence on filming day.
Can I wear my glasses?
Glasses can present challenges when filming due to glare, but our team will work with you to overcome them and make sure that you are comfortable.
What if I don’t like the way I look or sound?
Since most of us aren’t used to seeing ourselves on video, this is incredibly common feedback that we hear from clients. Our advice is to take it in stride and get feedback from trusted team members on how you are presented in the video. Our team’s goal is to present you in the most natural and comfortable way possible.
Do I need to wear special makeup?
Not typically. We recommend that both men and women come to the session with hair and makeup done in a way that makes them feel confident and professional. We recommend keeping hair and makeup natural-looking to avoid any distracting elements. The top concern for HD video is shininess on faces, so we recommend using an anti-shine powder and avoiding sunscreens or other oily products on filming day.
Will the final video be edited?
The level of editing will be determined based on the package you purchased. For more details, please see the package options on the site.
Can I add my company logo and branding into the final video?
Yes, if you have a digital version of your logo, we can integrate it into the final edit.
How will I receive my final video?
Your final video will be delivered to you as a video file via a link in Dropbox.
Who owns the rights to the finished video?
You will fully own the rights to all video content created using Centriq Studios unless special arrangements have been made.
What happens if I lose or delete the video file?
After your download link in Drobox expires, Centriq Studios does not hold an active backup of projects.
What if I do not like the final video?
Centriq Studios will work with you individually to address any concerns that you have with your final video. Our goal is for everyone to be completely satisfied with their project. As a general guideline, we are responsible for the technical delivery of the video service, including proper lighting, sound, framing and other video production elements. The quality of the delivery and content is the responsibility of you, the client.
Do I have to use all of my time in a single video, or in a single studio session?
No. Your video coach will work with you to identify appropriate video projects that can be filmed in additional sessions. Our team will work with you to keep track of time used and time remaining.
What if I use all of my studio time, but still have remaining finished video time that needs to be completed?
We will work with you directly to determine how to handle these situations on a case-by-case basis.
I don’t need a full 10 minutes of finished video, can I purchase smaller sessions?
Sure! We can create a custom quote to fit your needs – please email us at centriqstudios@centriq.com to get started.
What if my final video takes me over my 10-minute allotment?
During your project planning, we can work with you to determine what options are available to accommodate the final video.
