The Program

Centriq Training is an accelerated IT Career program that prepares students for a career in technology as an IT Administrator or Coder. We specialize in educating people with little or no IT experience and prepare them for a career in IT in just 4 months. The Purpose

At Centriq we celebrate all backgrounds, cultures, and viewpoints within our organization and the communities we serve. We believe diversity fuels innovation and success and are pleased to offer our Full-Ride Diversity in Tech Scholarship.

The goal of this scholarship is:

•To improve access to IT education and support students from diverse backgrounds.

•To foster an environment that empowers and values a diverse student body.

•To advance equity and inclusion and aid in closing the diversity gap in the tech field.

Award Amount

Scholarship recipients receive a Full-Ride Scholarship to attend Centriq’s Cloud & Security Specialist program or Full Stack Coding program.
Scholarship recipients will be loaned all technology required to complete the program, including a laptop and laptop accessories.

Eligibility Criteria

To qualify for this scholarship applicants must:


  1. Live in Kansas City or St. Louis metro areas and have transportation for any on-campus courses

  2. Have access to high-speed internet for the virtual components of the program
        or the ability to travel to campus daily to use Centriq’s internet

  3. Demonstrate financial need

  4. Identify as one of the following:
    • Person of color
    • Indigenous person
    • Person living with a disability (as defined by WHO)
    • Person who identifies as LGBTQIA+
    • Person who identifies as a Woman

1) Application Form

2) Personal Essay (300 – 500 words)
    In your essay, please describe the following
     How do you meet the scholarship criteria, including financial need


3) Introduction video (1-3 minutes total)

In your video, please briefly respond to each of the questions below:

   • Who are you?

   • Why does a career in technology interest you?

   • What does diversity mean to you?

   • What would an opportunity like this mean to you?

   • Tell us about a time when you completed something that was difficult; how did you set and meet that goal?


4) Send it over!

    When you’re ready, submit all three pieces to Alex Carnahan, Vice President of Student Success & Strategic Partnerships,   (acarnahan@centriq.com).  In the email subject line, please put “First Name Last Name – Diversity in Tech Scholarship
