Navigating the Tech Landscape in 2024

Biggest Tech Trends of 2023

The Global Knowledge 2023-2024 IT Skills and Salary Report is out, covering the biggest tech trends and findings from 2023. Maybe you have an idea of what the report unveiled, but if not, we’re going to dive right into it.

According to the report, the most significant trend last year in tech surrounded the evolution and influence of artificial intelligence. The report emphasizes the importance of continuously learning and adopting new technology as it evolves so you don’t fall behind in your field.

In 2023, 66% of decision-makers in technology reported struggling with skills gaps on their teams. These leaders noted having a hard time hiring AI-proficient talent and turned to reskilling and upskilling their current employees to stay competitive.

So, what does this mean for you? This means that you need to become flexible and open-minded as the field of technology evolves. Become proficient in the AI tools that are available, by finding ways to make use of them for productivity and efficiency. This also means that gaining new skills through certifications and training programs is the way to become advantageous against other people in the job market.

Enroll in a Training Program

Centriq remains a top choice for individuals looking to enroll in a tech program aligned with innovation, convenience, and relevancy. With two technology tracks- cybersecurity and coding, Centriq offers students flexibility in their program and an entryway to the tech industry in months, not years. Graduates from both of our IT programs receive help attaining a job and they’re prepared for a life and career in the ever-changing world of technology.

Centriq graduates leave the program trained to receive IT certifications, and they’ve been introduced to AI-powered tools, with Centriq’s new AI integration. This makes them easy to hire and ensures they won’t contribute to the skill gaps companies face today.

In addition to the widening skills gap in the industry, the Global Knowledge Report also noted that IT certifications continued to boom this past year, with 88% of survey participants holding between four and seven certifications each! Despite a slight dip in the percentage of certified individuals, (there were 91% in 2022) there’s been an increase in the average number of certifications per person, highlighting a trend of continuous learning.

Does the data say you need a certification?

According to the data, certifications are win-win investments. IT professionals who are certified demonstrate commitment and expertise, and they also enjoy increased earning potential and job security.
