Eric Larson
BIO
I graduated from Missouri State University in 2011 with a bachelor’s degree in Hospitality and Restaurant Administration. Since then I have been managing a full-service restaurant. I have always enjoyed the fast pace environment and love working with people. As I get older I am looking for a career that will challenge me as well as have opportunity for growth. My interest in technology has always been there, I just didn’t really know how to make a career out of it. After doing some research I found out about Centriq, and it seemed like the perfect fit.
Q&A
Q: Why did you decide to come to Centriq?
A: When I decided it was time to follow my passion, I knew I wanted more than simply reading a book or taking an online class. I also knew that I couldn’t afford the time or money it would take to go to a college to get a degree in IT. Centriq offered the hands-on experience I felt was integral to understanding what work in the IT field was really like.
Q: What class has been your favorite so far?
A: A+ has been my favorite subject in this course. I love trouble shooting and problem solving, as well as the hardware that goes into building a computer. I enjoy working with and helping people.
Q: What do you hope to do after Centriq?
A: My short-term goal is to get my foot in the door. I am looking for a job in a technical support role. In this position I will be able to build my knowledge and skills and work my way up to a system administrator.
Q: What other hobbies and interests do you have?
A: I have always been a big fan of computers and video games. I love playing and watching sports, as well as listening to music and going to concerts. I enjoy spending time outside with my girlfriend and dog and going on hikes whenever possible.
