Brian Simpson
Bio
Ever since I graduated from college, I’ve been fortunate to excel in different high paced, customer focused roles like retail management, insurance sales, and auto claims. I’ve always had an interest in and aptitude for technology and have often been the go-to “IT-person”. Outside of work, I’m very passionate about the scouting program as an Eagle Scout. I’m also a die-hard fan of soccer. I’m looking forward to finding a company that I can have the same kind of passion in my new chosen career.
Q&A
Q: Why did you decide to come to Centriq?
A: Once I knew that I wanted to make a transition into the world of IT as a career, I wanted to ensure that I was quickly prepared to do so. I had heard Centriq’s radio ads and included them in my research options. I was impressed with how the program quickly prepared students by using hands-on labs to really learn the material.
Q: What class has been your favorite so far?
A: It’s been exciting to learn all the subjects we’ve covered, but I’ve been most intrigued by PowerShell. It’s such a fascinating tool and I’ve already learned ways to script some tasks that would ordinarily be very time intensive.
Q: What do you hope to do after Centriq?
A: I’m looking to work for a company that I can start putting my new skills to use on day one and grow as I learn more. Long-term, I would like to advance into a Project Management role.
Q: What other hobbies and interests do you have?
A: Outside of work I spend a lot of time on two of my biggest passions: scouting and soccer. I’m a Den Leader for a local Cub Scout Pack and have held several other leadership positions over the past few years. It’s been very rewarding to give back to a program that has meant so much to me as an Eagle Scout. On many weekends throughout the summer I can also be found with all my friends in the St. Louligans supporting Saint Louis FC.
