Michael Callis
Bio
My name is Michael Callis. I have worked in different warehouse jobs over the years. I have worked as a chemical processor, delivery worker and even simple jobs such as shipping and receiving and pulling orders. I enjoy working with people, helping others and working with my hands. I have always had an interest in seeing how things worked and dismantling them and trying to put them back together. That is what sparked my interest in IT.
Q&A
Q: Why did you decide to come to Centriq?
A: Looking for a career change I started doing research on different schools so I could learn what I needed to do so. After looking into Centriq and seeing everything they had to offer in a short amount of time I decided it was the correct choice for me. Centriq has a good reputation so I set up a tour and after talking with students that were going there made the choice easy.
Q: What class has been your favorite so far?
A: My favorite subject matter so far has been Net+. I have gained the most knowledge from this class so far as how deep it dives into the interworking for a network. I also understand more of what I have seen over the years just working with my home network. Learning about servers, routers, and switches really helped me understand what was being taught after that class.
Q: What do you hope to do after Centriq?
A: I hope to at least have two or more certifications once the course is over. Using those skills, I have learned I would also like to try to get a networking job to further my knowledge in the field.
Q: What other hobbies and interests do you have?
A: I grew up working on vehicles with my father who is a mechanic. We have an older Chevrolet pick up truck that we work on when we have time. I also enjoy watching movies or tv shows when I have time. And taking my dog Pancake to the park.
