Featured STL Developing Student for September 2018
Dennis Michalicek
Bio
I have mostly worked in a manufacturing environment, both technology and non-technology related. During that time, I’ve learned a lot of what it’s like to be in a team setting, and how communication is the key to success for the team, the project, and the company. Every team member’s voice needs to be heard, and their knowledge utilized for overall success. Most importantly, I learned that technology is not just the future, but it is the here and now.
Q&A
Q: Why did you decide to come to Centriq?
A: I chose Centriq because of the immersive learning process. The hands-on style of teaching and the up-to-date curriculum provide a great learning experience. The staff is friendly and supportive. Any questions you ask, not only do they have the answers, but they explain them in detail to help you understand the concept. The staff cares just as much about your success as you do and will spend the time that you need to help master any technology topic.
Q: What class has been your favorite so far?
A: The classroom setting is comfortable and welcoming, and you feel included and supported from classmates and staff. Honestly, I liked all the subjects taught. My favorites were SQL and working on my final project.
Q: What do you hope to do after Centriq?
A: I hope to earn a career in coding and push the boundaries in every position that I will hold.
Q: What other hobbies and interests do you have?
A: I love photography and golf. I have been to 11 different countries in my life including Spain and France and have been fortunate enough to have seen works of art from every famous artist throughout the centuries. Thanks to my mom for forcing me to do see those things and because of her encouragement, I gained a love of art, and I try to visit an art museum every chance I get.
