Bio
Before deciding to attend Centriq I was a Parts and Inventory Control Analyst with most of my working career focused around customer service and retail sales. Finding people’s needs and coming up with solutions for those needs or problems is something I have always really enjoyed. I have a passion for tech, always trying to get my hands on the newest and greatest devices being it phones, audio equipment, gaming rigs, you name it. When a friend or family member was looking to upgrade something, I was the one they came to – it was fun for me.
Q&A
Q: Why did you decide to come to Centriq?
A: In high school and college, I found myself drawn toward Computer Science, programming languages and processors, but found myself really missing the “helping others” aspect. IT Administration seemed like a great fit – I could get the technology aspect with the gratification of helping people all wrapped up into one! With the craziness the world has found itself in, I also found myself looking for a better and more future-proof career path. I had heard about Centriq on the radio and instantly knew I had to look into it. I called Russ that day and after a few discussions with my family, decided it was time to make the change.
Q: What class has been your favorite so far?
A: So far, I am really enjoying the system administration content. Setting up new employees, learning how to quickly and easily reset user passwords and delegate control to others, creating group policies to benefit the usability of an end user’s workstation. It all just really speaks to me.
Q: What do you hope to do after Centriq?
A: After Centriq, I hope to find that career that has that rewarding feeling at the end of each day, like I really accomplished something or made someone’s life just a bit easier. I really want to be able to expand on the knowledge I have obtained and just keep improving the outlook of my future!
Q: What other hobbies and interests do you have?
A: One of my absolute favorite things to do is snow skiing. Just about every spring break in high school while everyone was trying to hit the warm beaches, my family and I would take a trip to the snow-topped mountains of Colorado for a ski trip. I love swimming, camping and just being outdoors.
