RYAN BREWTON
Bio
I grew up in Las Vegas before moving to the Kansas City area to be closer with my family. Without much of a direction to go into, I got my AA degree before settling on enrolling into Centriq to get into a field that I am passionate about. Technology has always been a big part of my life growing up, from taking apart laptops to fixing computers for family members. Coupled with my desire to educate myself, IT seems like the perfect field for me.
Q&A
Q: Why did you decide to come to Centriq?
A: After graduating college, I was a little bit directionless in what I wanted to do. I’ve always enjoyed working closely with technology, but it seemed difficult to get into. Centriq’s program seemed like a perfect fit, giving me experience, certificates, and helping me get my foot in the door of a growing industry.
Q: What class has been your favorite so far?
A: Powershell was a great experience. I think my favorite thing about it was showing me a path to being a much better tech as well as exposing me to a new world to dive into. I was always told how powerful it was, and it was very eye-opening.
Q: What do you hope to do after Centriq?
A: Anything that allows me to help people and continue to learn new skills and technologies. Being able to keep expanding and learning is fundamental to me, as well as sharpening the skills I already have and being able to share that with peers.
Q: What other hobbies and interests do you have?
A: Reading and video games have always been huge hobbies of mine. Within the last couple years I got into Dungeons and Dragons, which I really enjoy. The teamwork and problem solving of the game appeals to me, as well as the large amount of creative aspects, like worldbuilding, creating character narratives, and designing fun adventures.
