Zach Harvey

Bio
Hello everyone! My name is Zach Harvey. I was born and raised in Kansas City and have spent the last 10 years of my life wearing a variety of hats professionally. I’ve done everything from managing a Waffle House to assembling, repairing, and fitting durable medical equipment for patients. My last job was a retail sales position at a motorcycle dealership, and while I enjoyed interacting with customers and educating them on all of the new gear and performance parts, I felt it was time in my life to “level up” and change careers.
Q&A
Q: Why did you decide to come to Centriq?
A: I decided to enroll in Centriq’s Systems and Security Administration career training program for three reasons. First, I felt it was time for a change in my life, and a few of my friends had enrolled in the track and it changed their lives for the better. Secondly, the ever-changing landscape of the IT industry is something I found very appealing. Lastly, it seemed like a challenge. My experience with computers began and ended with Microsoft office and Android phones, so naturally, I wanted to learn more.
Q: What class has been your favorite so far?
A: I’d say either Windows administration or security. I like the psychological aspect of trying to outfox people with malicious intent by thinking three steps ahead of them, but Windows administration really clicked for me and I developed an affinity for it.
Q: What do you hope to do after Centriq?
A: My wife and I love to travel, and I’ve always wanted to take her to Disney World and Universal Studios in Orlando, Florida. I plan to forge a career with a company that boasts a culture based on performance by prioritizing employee wellness and save up to finally make it happen!
Q: What other hobbies and interests do you have?
A: I like to spend most of my free time with my wife and our three dogs, four cats, and five guinea pigs. Some of my hobbies include motorsports, jamming on my drums, tabletop wargaming, and playing Magic: The Gathering.
