Bio
After graduating high school, I went to Missouri State University with the intent of majoring in IT but somehow ended up on the pre-medicine track. When I could no longer afford that, I worked in retail, customer service and warehouses. Unchallenged and unpassionate, I decided to re-spark old interests and found my purpose in IT. That’s what led me to Centriq. Now I’m having the time of my life and couldn’t be happier!
Q&A
Q: Why did you decide to come to Centriq?
A: I’ve always been passionate about helping people and making a difference. After I heard Centriq’s commercial on the radio, I saw an open door and decided to take it. It took me two years to save up the down payment to attend but I never gave up. I kept working and saving in the hopes that my hard work would pay off. I’m so glad I stuck with it!
Q: What class has been your favorite so far?
A: My favorite subject had to be PowerShell. I wanted to do both tracks, both the development and the system administration tracks. I chose Systems and Securities Administration but I found out that I have a knack for programming language!
Q: What do you hope to do after Centriq?
A: My ultimate goal is to work for Cerner. I love everything that Cerner stands for in the way of forging the bond between healthcare and technology. I believe that making medicine more accessible in a changing world is so important.
Q: What other hobbies and interests do you have?
A: I love hiking. There’s nothing more fun, centering, and satisfying than putting in an intense workout to get up a mountain hiking trail and then turning around to see how far I’ve come and the altitude I’ve reached. I enjoy singing, drawing and dancing (when no one’s looking). The arts are scintillating for me. I love museums and operas and theatrical performances. But above all else, nothing makes me happier than brightening someone else’s day.
