Q&A
Q: Why did you decide to come to Centriq?
A: Realizing I could pair my CJ degree with IT to go into cybersecurity and I began looking for a fast-paced program to avoid going back to school for three more years when my VA Rep suggested either Centriq or New Horizons. She gave the disclaimer that New Horizons was self-paced and with me having zero background in IT, I quickly chose Centriq. After touring with Russ, I realized I had just made the right choice.
Q: What class has been your favorite so far?
A: My favorite subject so far has been Net+ 1&2 ironically. It’s been the most challenging and I find that once I can master it, or at least grasp the majority of the concepts enough to pass my exam it’ll be rewarding. A close second would be physically repairing PCs in Help Desk Fundamentals 1 & 2, for sure!
Q: What do you hope to do after Centriq?
A: I’m currently attempting to pass my Net+ exam and if I pass, but after the program, I plan on having at least two of the three certifications and hopefully and a new career.
Q: What other hobbies and interests do you have?
A: In my spare time I enjoy fishing for crappie and catfish and watching the Chiefs, I am a second-year season ticket holder for the Chiefs. A fun fact about me is that I recently officially became an ordained minister.
