Bio
Hi, I’m Lindsey! I’m a newcomer to the IT scene and so excited to be here! I grew up in Kansas City, attended Park University in Parkville where I earned a Bachelors in English, and spent a few years working in the title insurance industry. I started to feel the itch to make a change to a field where there was a lot of room for growth and opportunities for continued learning that would challenge me throughout my career and found IT to be that field.

Q: Why did you decide to come to Centriq?
A: A few days after I finished my career exploration spreadsheet (true story), I heard an ad for Centriq on the radio. The timing was too perfect, so I reached out to Russ right away. The four-month timeline, full-time/in-person class format, robust career services, and the great instructors I met during my class visit all helped to finalize my decision to come to Centriq.
Q: What class has been your favorite so far?
A: I especially enjoyed my Net+ classes and learning about the different ways we can transmit information using technology. I also liked the introduction to databases/SQL and am looking forward to learning about Linux as well!
Q: What do you hope to do after Centriq?
A: After Centriq, I am looking forward to starting my first job and really learning as much as I can about the different elements of IT and the practical applications of what I’ve learned in the program. Beyond that, I want to continue learning about networking with the goal of becoming a network administrator.
Q: What other hobbies and interests do you have?
A: In my free time, I read a lot of science fiction and collect and watch VHS tapes. I enjoy biking, hiking, and film photography. I’m also interested in stop motion animation and like to create my own short animations.
