Chris LaFave

Bio
Hello, my name is Chris LaFave. I have been an avid gamer and tech enthusiast for about as long as I can remember. I have worked as an inventory auditor, kitchen manager, retail clerk and construction worker but I feel as if I have found my passion in IT. The prospects of continued career growth and education are something that I value greatly, and hope to be able to take full advantage of in this field.
Q&A
Q: Why did you decide to come to Centriq?
A: I remember hearing the radio commercials and thinking to myself, ‘I should do that one day’. After a particularly long day of inventory, I decided to act and make the call. Having always been a tech enthusiast, I figured IT might be a good fit. After talking to my family, coming in and speaking with Russ, I decided to go for it. It has been one of the best choices I have ever made.
Q: What class has been your favorite so far?
A: I have really enjoyed the Windows System Administration class, with network mapping, file sharing and permissions, and group policies being some of my favorite aspects. But overall, the best part of any class I have taken yet has been the instructors and faculty!
Q: What do you hope to do after Centriq?
A: I hope to find a good work/life balance, with a company that has the potential for growth and a positive, people-based outlook. Ideally, a place to work that I look forward to going to.
Q: What other hobbies and interests do you have?
A: I enjoy working with technology almost as much as playing with it, learning how new devices or software work, getting the highest score, or just fixing the printer, I find it all intriguing. I am a single father (and dog dad too!), I enjoy the outdoors, especially fishing and camping and am an avid video gamer.
