Q&A
Q: Why did you decide to come to Centriq?
A: I came to Centriq because I wanted to learn new skills and enter a new career field, and with the recent downturn in the oil industry it seemed like the perfect opportunity to concentrate on learning and finding my calling. I have always been interested in technology, and Cetriq’s SSA program seemed like the best option to gain experience and get into the IT field quickly. My time at Centriq has taken what was an interest in technology and turned it into a passion that I can take with me moving forward.
Q: What class has been your favorite so far?
A: My favorite subject at Centriq has been networking and server technology. I have found it extremely satisfying to build a complex system of servers to provide services like DHCP, DNS, or FTP and then watch them provide those services to clients in real-time.
Q: What do you hope to do after Centriq?
A: After Centriq I’m hoping to find a position in the IT industry that will allow me to work with diverse environments and technologies so I can continue to grow and learn as much as I can as an IT professional. Long term I’m looking for an opportunity to deep dive into cloud services and earn certifications in the AWS or Azure tracks.
Q: What other hobbies and interests do you have?
A: I’m an avid outdoorsman and enjoy everything the outdoors has to offer from exploring the backcountry in Colorado to fishing any local lakes or rivers I can get access to. Reading is also a passion on mine, particularly fantasy, sci-fi, and history books and you will often find me juggle two or three at a time. Lastly, I enjoy cooking, especially for friends and family.
