Bio
“I am a lifelong learner who loves dogs, music and all things technology. I grew up in a small town and wrestled for 8 years, even winning the state championship. I moved to Kansas City in high school and enjoy all things KC. Before coming to Centriq, I was the lead over a small team involved with medical coding, billing, training and customer service at Apria Healthcare for just over four years. Prior to that, I was an assistant manager at Sheridan’s Frozen Custard for over five years. My previous work involvement has provided me a wealth of experience in communication, problem solving, leadership, and how to thrive in ever-changing, fast-paced environments.“
Q&A
Q: Why did you decide to come to Centriq?
A: I have been a technology enthusiast for as long as I can remember and am eager for a career in something I am very passionate about. Centriq provides an unmatched, real-world, hands-on environment that has been one of the best experiences of my life. This combined with the excellent career placement opportunities and not having to enroll in traditional general education classes made it a no-brainer.
Q: What class has been your favorite so far?
A: I really enjoy PowerShell and the flexibility it provides. Being able to put a creative spin on scripts allows me to tailor them to my liking; it almost feels like artwork. Automation is a potent skillset that enables for productive efficiency and ingenuity. If you need a tool to do a job, you can create one with PowerShell.
Q: What do you hope to do after Centriq?
A: I plan to gain experience in the field and continue my education as I have much to learn. My ultimate goal is to become a Linux Systems Engineer.
Q: What other interests do you have?
A: I am an avid DIYer who loves to build, maintain or repair just about anything from cars to the plumbing in the kitchen sink. I enjoy the outdoors, especially fishing, hiking, and camping. I build my own computers – the hardware fascinates me and I have been a home Linux user for over ten years.
