ALYSHA WILLIAMS
BIO
For the last five and a half years I worked as an Integrated Health Specialist, which is like a social worker. Back at the end of January, I found a coding book at Aldi that used Berkeley’s drag and drop coding system SNAP! I enjoyed learning to use that program and wanted to learn how to write the actual code, not just drag and drop code.
Q&A
Q: Why did you decide to come to Centriq?
A: I found out about Centriq when I was looking for options to learn about coding from an instructor. I enjoyed learning on my own, but I didn’t have anyone around to help me troubleshoot my code when it wasn’t working. Centriq has allowed me to learn so much more about coding in a short amount of time.
Q: What class has been your favorite so far?
A: I enjoyed learning about databases and SQL. I enjoy being able to query the data to see all the records and learn how to manipulate the data inside the table.
Q: What do you hope to do after Centriq?
A: After Centriq, I will be starting a job at Ad Astra as an Associate Software Engineer. I am excited to start working with Ad Astra and learn even more about coding and grow my skills in more languages.
Q: What other hobbies and interests do you have?
A: In my free time, I love to read, play DnD, and play board games. My favorite genre of literature is fantasy and I have been rereading many of my favorite books, such as Garth Nix’s Old Kingdom series.
