Carter Croft
BIO
Hello! My name is Carter Croft, I am 21 years old and from Overland Park, KS. I played baseball for about 14 years beginning when I was 4. I enjoy music, playing guitar, and spending time with my two Boston Terriers. I have always been interested in technology, specifically computers which led me to go to college pursuing Software Development, but I took a big hit to my motivation when the pandemic hit and classes shifted on online learning.
Q&A
Q: Why did you decide to come to Centriq?
A: I chose Centriq because I went to college for Software Development, but I didn’t like the general education classes that had nothing to do with computers. Ever since I took my first introductory programming class, I had fallen in love with the work and problem-solving. Since then, I haven’t looked back. Centriq provided a more technology-focused education, something that I wasn’t getting in college, which was exactly what I was looking for.
Q: What class has been your favorite so far?
A: I really enjoy the logic that is behind applications. I love seeing how everything works behind the scenes. Considering this, MVC was my favorite subject because of all the moving parts working together to create a whole application.
Q: What do you hope to do after Centriq?
A: After Centriq, I hope to work with others and apply my newly obtained technical knowledge to help advance technology where it is needed. I plan to keep learning more about new technologies every day after graduating because learning is what keeps me going.
Q: What other hobbies and interests do you have?
A: I really enjoy playing guitar, playing video games, and tinkering around with code. I have played guitar on and off for about 10 years, and I have always wanted to learn how to write my own music but haven’t given it a try yet.
