Q&A
Q: Why did you decide to come to Centriq?
A: I wanted to take my career in a new direction. To do that I need to expand my skill set. While working with Ravyn Ahart at KansasWorks to determine my options, she recommended looking at Centriq. What stood out about Centriq? One, the accelerated learning in a classroom environment with other students every day. Two, the amount of support offered to students in their learning and in finding a job to utilize these new skills.
Q: What class has been your favorite so far?
A: My classmates will roll their eyes when they read my answer, but MVC1 has been my favorite because it has been the most challenging. Tying together the concepts we have learned to date and starting to see the bigger picture was great.
Q: What do you hope to do after Centriq?
A: Continue to learn! The program at Centriq is terrific, but it is like learning to swim. You can be a very successful swimmer by learning the freestyle, you if do not learn the other strokes you are limiting yourself. I hope to find an employer that not only helps perfect my freestyle but encourages me to learn the other strokes.
Q: What other hobbies and interests do you have?
A: I have completed four marathons! My family loves to go Estes Park, Colorado to hike in Rocky Mountain Nation Park. And despite my family’s promises to do all the care for our now six years ago bulldog Lucy, you can often find me in the neighborhood out walking her.
