Featured Developer Student for April 2019

April 5, 2019 in Featured Students / by Dayna Schroeder

I graduated from the University of Kansas in 2010 with a BS in Economics. I started working for a financial services company. I did that for 6 years before, I was given an opportunity by that company to train to become a software engineer and I took them up on that offer. I did that for two years before that company was bought out and I ended up at Centriq.

Q: Why did you decide to come to Centriq?
A: I needed to update my software skills to make myself more employable in the industry. I had a limited and narrow skillset from my last company. Centriq was able to provide a broad spectrum of software skills need to become employed.

Q: What class has been your favorite so far?
A: C# is my favorite, I love object-oriented programming, it makes the most sense to me. I enjoy the logical steps of it.

Q: What do you hope to do after Centriq?
A: Work in the middle tier or backend languages. C# or Python would be preferred.

Q: What other hobbies and interests do you have?
A: I enjoy working out and just being outside in general, playing sports (Volleyball, Baseball, Softball, Football etc.). I need to get away from a screen and computers after work/class, to destress myself.
