Hi, I am Ley Fatzinger. I have been with Centriq for over 5 years. I seem to have been in some sort of training/development position for most of my life, both professionally and personally. I have been a teacher, counselor, advisor, trainer, Girl Scout leader, mentor, and team mom to name some of my titles. What I really enjoy is seeing others have their aha moments, as well as having my own. I believe in lifelong learning; if I’m not learning, I’m bored. Who likes to be bored?

5 Entry Level IT Roles Sorely Lacking Talent In 2022
July 4, 2022 in Centriq News, IT Career Program / by Centriq Training
COVID has changed the professional working world forever. In the case of IT, however, that might just be a positive thing. According to IT staffing agency Motion Recruitment, the market lost 180,000 total jobs in December 2020 – but gained 20,000 IT jobs. Why has the IT job market exploded, and what are the most in-demand tech roles in 2021?
The reason for the increase in available IT jobs is simple: COVID has demanded an unprecedented amount of work in the healthcare and technology space while also forcing companies to rapidly develop and improve their e-commerce platforms. But this change comes with significant growing pains; there just isn’t enough IT talent to execute these roles properly.

When the US Bureau of Labor Statistics released its ten-year employment projections for 2020-2030 in September 2021, it did so without considering the economic effects of the worst public health crisis in a generation. The research had been completed; the projections foretold. But with COVID-19 affecting as many areas of the job market as it did, the Bureau decided to re-release its projection report in February 2021, this time factoring the pandemic into their prognosis. When the Bureau updated its report later on, it foretold a somber story for some industries and the beginning of a boom for others — thanks to COVID.

It really happened by accident! I was working as a Coordinator of Student Outreach and Success in the School of Communications at Webster University, and my co-worker interviewed for the advising position in STL. Even though the position was filled, and the recruiter didn’t realize it at the time, she mentioned the Operations Coordinator position to her. She, in turn, referred me and the rest is history! This was my first job outside of higher education and I love it.

Tell us about your journey into technology training.
Since I was in college, I’ve been tinkering with computers. My roommates came to me with their computer problems. Later in life, I had my own handyman business, which included home computer repair and networking for small business. I was self-taught up until 2020; life-changes catalyzed my call to our friend and radio legend, Russ Mondry, to learn and certify in IT. It seemed like most IT people were doing well and staying in their jobs despite the challenges in the world. Now I am a proud Centriq grad.

Is Microsoft Power Platform Worth Your Time?
May 11, 2022 in Centriq News, Corporate IT Training, Microsoft, Microsoft 365/Office 365, Microsoft Office / by Andrea Pomatto
I could ramble off several mistakes people make when it comes to optimizing their productivity. I could also offer solutions to fix those mistakes. But in the end, I haven’t answered the most important question: how much time is it going to take to adopt the best solution?
In 2021, Forrester performed a TEI (Total Economic Impact™) study, and determined that the solutions built through Power Platform showed a 3% efficiency gain within a single organization and within the first year of adoption. Without a doubt I know this to be possible just by watching our trainers and operations team build out automation tools on the fly, but we also have the most knowledgeable training team out there. What if a non-technical person (like me) tried to build a solution through Power platform? Would the risk of wasting time learning how to build a Power Platform solution outweigh the reward?
