It really happened by accident! I was working as a Coordinator of Student Outreach and Success in the School of Communications at Webster University, and my co-worker interviewed for the advising position in STL. Even though the position was filled, and the recruiter didn’t realize it at the time, she mentioned the Operations Coordinator position to her. She, in turn, referred me and the rest is history! This was my first job outside of higher education and I love it.
How do you prefer to start your day?
Coffee and news (doom) scrolling.
What do you enjoy doing when you are not working?
I have a long history of meandering back roads, taking pics of abandoned places and other cool things I find along the way. I’ve also been doing Pilates for around 20 years. I read constantly and enjoy red wine. Preferably together!
What’s the first job you’ve ever had, and what did you learn from it?
I was a junior in high school in Escondido, CA and got a job at the mall at an organic deli. I quickly learned that the food service industry was not for me as I preferred to eat than serve!
What’s a work-related accomplishment you’re really proud of?
My position recently changed from Operations Coordinator to Sales Support Specialist and Education Consultant, and I couldn’t be more thrilled as all of my work experience has been in student recruitment, so this is right up my alley.
What is your favorite Centriq memory or tradition?
It would have to be the luncheon we had in STL a few months ago when Kevin, Jessica and Andrea were visiting, and I made my first appointment. What a high! If you don’t believe me, ask them!
