Jordan Felix
Bio
Hi! My name is Jordan Felix. I am a hardworking, hard playing individual who enjoys a good audiobook, playing my guitar, and being a supporting husband for my wife and her business. I was born and raised in the Metro East area and attended Southwestern Illinois College for Music Education before plunging into the work force. I have always let my curiosity drive my passions and, after dabbling in some online networking courses, I knew that I wanted to get serious about a career in IT.
Q&A
Q: Why did you decide to come to Centriq?
A: I decided to attend Centriq simply because I kept hearing about it on the radio. I could not believe that they could give you all the training and knowledge needed to step into the IT workforce in just four months. But, after talking to Patrick Nealon, I knew that this was the right thing for me: challenging, fast-paced, and presented in such a way that it would keep me wanting to learn more. I could not be prouder of myself for taking that first step.
Q: What class has been your favorite so far?
A: So far in the program, I really enjoy PowerShell scripting. I find it very satisfying to take raw materials and transform them into a functioning piece, whether that is through woodworking or scripting. To have something you wrote work properly is extremely rewarding.
Q: What do you hope to do after Centriq?
A: After graduation, I want to hit the ground running, putting my skills to the test and building up my work experience. I think I want to lean more into Security management, but I am willing to follow the winds of opportunity wherever they may blow.
Q: What other hobbies and interests do you have?
A: I am an avid herpetology (the study of reptiles and amphibians) enthusiast! I have a pet Ball Python named Thelonious and I plan to start collecting a variety of poison dart frogs once my career takes off. I play several instruments including guitar, bass, trumpet, piano, banjo, and mandolin. I also enjoy playing tabletop war games, such as Warhammer, with my friends; and I can cook one mean Gumbo! There are just too many hobbies to list, and I am always looking to expand my interests.
