Jason Ashley
Bio
My name is Jason Ashley. I have lived in Kansas City for the last 20 years. The past 7 years I spent as the Director of Operations for a large church on Ward Parkway, managing the day-to-day, paying the bills, managing staff, etc. I enjoyed my time, learning a lot but had reached the top of my potential there. I desired more challenges, more opportunities for growth and professional development. Over the years, I have built small networks, many computers for others and enjoyed it as a hobby. I am super excited to learn, grow and develop in the IT profession.
Q&A
Q: Why did you decide to come to Centriq?
A: I decided to attend Centriq after hearing Russ on the radio for over 10 years. Honestly, I would likely have still prolonged things if it were not for the pandemic. Without getting too much into that, I believe in finding the opportunities in difficult times. Centriq, for me, is that wonderful opportunity. I have longed for a professional career with blue sky in which I can flourish, and my success is up to me. I am grateful to be here and will not take it for granted!
Q: What class has been your favorite so far?
A: All the coursework here at Centriq has been enjoyable. Each of the instructors and each of my peers are engaged and energetic and vibrant! So, if I had to pick a favorite based on something other than content, it would be HDF1 solely due to the fun times we all had while learning the basics! We were laughing every day while laying a solid foundation for the rest of our education here.
Q: What do you hope to do after Centriq?
A: I hope to accept a position with a progressive company that emphasizes educational opportunities so I may continue to grow in this industry. The more I can learn, the more I can do for that company. I am super excited about my new professional career in IT. The sky is the limit. Plus, I would love to take my daughter on a nice vacation!
Q: What other hobbies and interests do you have?
A: I enjoy the outdoors, riding my mountain bike for miles and warming in the sun. Summer is my favorite time of year. I go “Jeeping” with the top off and ride my motorcycle. In the winter, I try to keep up the exercise although I do play video games (for educational purposes only of course).
