Ryan Pflugradt

BIO
Hi, I’m Ryan Pflugradt. I am a fun going hard working guy that loves to write code, play disc golf (or anything outdoors), and hang out with the family! I am from a small town south of Kansas City, but I’ve always called Kansas City my home. I attended college at Missouri Western State University right out of high school and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Economics in 2008. Following that, I have worked in the insurance industry for the past 12 years. I am very excited to start a new chapter and pursue my passion for coding!
Q&A
Q: Why did you decide to come to Centriq?
A: I came to Centriq to invest in myself and pursue a career that I am passionate about every day. I have been coding in my free time before attending Centriq, and it has become a great source of pride enjoyment in my life. It would be a dream come true to develop and work on applications for a living. Centriq is allowing me to expand my knowledge base and gain professional, hands-on experience to make that a reality.
Q: What class has been your favorite so far?
A: My favorite subject has been MVC. I love how MVC brings everything together with the Model-View-Controller. It’s at that time, everything clicks, and you can see the pieces all working together to make an application come to life. It is also at that point where other people can use and interact with the application you created; it’s really cool!
Q: What do you hope to do after Centriq?
A: After Centriq, I hope to hit the ground running in the industry and contribute to my new employer’s success. I also want to give back to the developer community. The developer community has been amazing, and so many people have been more than willing to help along the way. I hope someday I, too, can give back and help other developers in the way I have been.
Q: What other hobbies and interests do you have?
A: One fun fact about me is that I used to build and fly RC model airplanes. As far as hobbies go these days, besides coding, I like to get outside when I can and go hiking, biking, camping… You name it! I’ve also taken a keen interest in Disc Golf over the past couple of years. I’ve spent many evenings at Shawnee Mission park throwing some discs!
