Paul Mattes Paul Mattes U.S. Director - Windows Azure Platform and Technical Computing

Paul Mattes is currently the U.S. Director for Windows Azure Platform and Technical Computing in Microsoft’s Incubation group. His teams are responsible for working with customers and partners to identify and deliver solutions based on Microsoft’s cloud computing assets and High Performance Computing software.

Mr. Mattes has over 25 years experience in a diverse set of disciplines including software architecture and engineering, data center operations, enterprise sales management and strategic business consulting. Through the years, Paul has worked across multiple business domains including healthcare, pharmaceutical research, financial services and manufacturing. Since joining Microsoft in 2002, he has held positions of increasing responsibility across the organization in groups such as Developer & Platform Evangelism, Enterprise Sales, Industry Solutions and Incubation.

Paul holds a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science and a Master of Business Administration from West Chester University of Pennsylvania where he is also an adjunct instructor for Strategic and Operations Management at the Graduate College of Business and Public Affairs.

Kevin is an engaging and highly sought-after speaker and webcaster, and has delivered many top-scoring TechNet events and webcasts. In his past outside of Microsoft, Kevin has held positions such as software engineer, information systems professional, and information systems manager. He loves sharing helpful new solutions and technologies with his IT professional peers. When he's not busy learning or blogging about new technologies, Kevin enjoys digital photography and videography, and sings in a band. He continues to challenge his TechNet Event audiences to sing Karaoke with him.


Kevin Sullivan - Microsoft
Datacenter Technology Specialist

Kevin Sullivan is a Datacenter Technology Specialist from Microsoft. A 10 year veteran of Microsoft, Kevin has served in a few different roles at Microsoft including as an Account Technology Specialist serving EDU customers throughout the Midwest as well as a Management Technology Specialist serving all US EDU customers focused on assisting customers with understanding and making use of Microsoft’s management technologies in their respective environments. His most recent role as a Datacenter Technology Specialist provides Kevin the opportunity to work with large enterprise customers throughout the mid-section of the country focused on Windows Server and the System Center platform. Prior to Microsoft, Kevin was a consultant where he specialized in the design and implementation of various Microsoft technologies.


Travis Liles - Microsoft
Partner Technology Advisor

Travis Liles is a Partner Technology Advisor for the Microsoft Corporation covering the cities of St. Louis, Kansas City, and Nashville. Travis has been working with Microsoft Products and Technologies for over 10 year. His background is in technical consulting covering customer sizes from small and local to large and worldwide. His projects ranged across the Microsoft Core Infrastructure stack including, Windows Server and Desktop, Exchange, Active Directory, and System Center. Since moving to Microsoft 5 years ago he has focused on pre-sales architecture in both the Core Infrastructure and Business Productivity Infrastructure covering solutions like Systems Management and Unified Communications. Travis now works with Service Integrator partners to help them grow their Microsoft practices to meet the needs of the local markets to drive sales and deployment.


Justin Jackson - Valorem Consulting
Managing Partner

In his role as Managing Partner, Mr. Jackson currently oversees the delivery teams at Valorem Consulting, including a cloud practice focusing on the Azure and Office 365 platforms. His background includes consulting for several Fortune 100 companies on the topics of SharePoint, Business Intelligence and Cloud Computing. In addition to running the delivery teams at Valorem, Mr. Jackson sits on several advisory boards for user groups, including the Kansas City Cloud Computing User Group, and has spoken at several industry conferences on topics surrounding cloud technologies, including several Office 365 launch events and the Microsoft Worldwide Partner Conference. Prior to Valorem, Mr. Jackson worked for Microsoft Corporation and helped build out various practices focusing on Cloud Computing for partners in the Central United States. In this role, he helped advise partners on staffing, sales, marketing and technical models to meet the shifting focus from the datacenter to the cloud.


Andy Klaasmeyer - Valorem Consulting
Solutions Architect

Andrew Klaasmeyer is an experienced software development professional specializing in Cloud systems architecture, enterprise application integration and LOB application development. He received his formal education in Computer Science at Kansas State University in the College of Engineering. His professional experience includes development work in the fields of Commercial Real Estate, Retail Sales and Advertising. Andrew is the father of two boys and is a Solutions Architect at Valorem Consulting Group.


Jerry Weinstock - CRM Innovation
Business Technology Specialist

Jerry is a Microsoft Dynamics CRM MVP and has been working with the product since 2003. He has designed many CRM implementations. As the founder of CRM Innovation, he is responsible for creating solutions that extend the functionality of the platform to other Microsoft Partners and End Users World Wide.


T.J. Bangs - LightEdge
Vice President of Sales

T.J. Bangs brings more than 15 years of sales and leadership experience to LightEdge Solutions, Inc. to fulfill his role of Vice President of Sales. Most recently he has served as the Director of Technology Consulting for RSM McGladrey, a full service Assurance, Tax and Business Consulting firm. Prior to RSM McGladrey, Mr. Bangs has worked in engineering, sales and sales management roles for US West and AT&T.


John Leek - NetStandard
Chief Technology Officer

John Leek is the Chief Technology Officer at NetStandard, Inc. a top tier dedicated and co-location services provider located in Kansas City, KS. In this role, John oversees all aspects of infrastructure services delivery, data center operations, product development and delivery of professional services. He also has responsibilities in the areas of financial planning, service level management, capacity planning, service continuity, information security and strategic planning. John also lends his experience to assist customers in creating their strategic technology plans. John developed Myappsanywhere, NetStandard’s cloud computing service, more than 5 years ago and has helped businesses nationwide maximize the significant benefits cloud computing offers. Steve has almost 30 years of IT experience covering a wide range of platforms, technologies, and industries. During this time he has filled a range of roles from development and testing to analysis, design, team leadership, application and solution architecture, and project management. In his career he has focused on software development, primarily on the Microsoft platforms, starting before the days of .NET. He has delivered projects and taught skills on VC++, VB, J++, VB.Net, C#, and SQL Server. He is new to Sogeti, but prior to this role, he was an 11 year veteran of Microsoft, focusing on the education and delivery of .NET projects across the Central Region of the United States (stewarding both enterprise clients and the developer community as a whole).

Kevin Hughes - Valorem Consulting
Solutions Architect

Kevin Hughes is a Solutions Architect with Valorem Consulting Group in Kansas City, MO specializing in Microsoft SharePoint and related solutions. He has been involved in the Information Technology field since 1979 having been an application developer, network engineer, systems administrator, database administrator, trainer and architect. Kevin has been a small business owner and also has worked for diverse companies such as Raytheon, US Army, Texas Instruments, Embarq, and Truman State University. He has been involved in developing and deploying Microsoft solutions since 1995. He has architected, implemented, deployed, managed and/or consulted on over 150 separate SharePoint environments and countless other Microsoft solutions involving diverse technologies. Kevin is a Microsoft Certified Trainer, having taught courses on SharePoint, SQL Server, Windows Server and Network Design and Implementation and holds the following certifications: MCT, MCSA, MCITP, MCTS, MCP, Network+, A+, and ITIL Foundation.

Mr. Robinson has been the Chief Information Officer and Senior Vice President for the Lockton Companies since 1997. In this senior leadership role, he had defined and executed the strategies for the electronic foundation on which Lockton Companies has aggressively built and expanded to become the largest privately held broker in the world. Mr. Robinson has over twenty five years experience in Information Technology including the past eighteen years managing corporate technology and telecommunication organizations. He has had an active role in the explosive growth and use of technology in many diverse industries including, manufacturing, government, and financial services.


Chuck Tickles - KCPL

Chuck Tickles has over 30 years of experience at KCPL in utility operations and IT management. In his current role as Vice President Information Technology, Chuck has responsibility for IT Strategy, Information Security, including CIPS compliance, IT Architecture and Infrastructure, Telecommunications and all Application Development and Support including Real Time Systems and the EMS-SCADA environment. Chuck graduated from the University of Kansas with a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering and received a Master of Business Administration degree from the Rockhurst University Executive Fellows Program in 2001. He currently serves on the boards of Mid America Assistance Coalition and Big Brothers Big Sisters – Greater Kansas City.


Bud Jeffress - Kauffman Center for Performing Arts
Fmr. Vice President Operations, CFO

Bud Jeffress is the former Vice-President Operations and CFO for the Kauffman Center for the Performing Arts. In this role, he led development of the startup operations and oversaw finances, theatre, and facility and information technology operations for Kansas City’s newest and most unique performing arts center. Bud has held a variety of positions in accounting, audit, financial and project management with Kansas City Power and Light, UtiliCorp United/Aquila, and as CFO of Union Station Kansas City, Inc. Bud is a lifelong Kansas City resident, and currently resides in Independence, Missouri. He holds a degree in accounting from the University of Missouri Kansas City and MBA from Rockhurst University. He is currently a member of the International Facility Managers Association (IFMA), and Chairman of the Board of the Heritage Philharmonic based in Jackson County, Missouri.
