Bio
“I was born in Memphis, TN but moved to Kansas at a young age. I grew up in McLouth, which is a small town outside of Lawrence and was very involved in sports all the way through high school. I graduated from the University of Kansas in 2011 with my Bachelor’s in Psychology and was very involved in clinical research of Alzheimer’s disease my last couple years of college. I enjoy being outdoors hunting & fishing and being with my wife and our two dogs.”
Q&A
Q: Why did you decide to come to Centriq?
A: I came to Centriq because I could see that it was a great way to get a career in IT. I graduated from KU last spring and found myself sitting in a cube working a job that I did not enjoy. I’ve always had an interest in IT and heard an ad on the radio a few times which really caught my interest. After coming in to meet with Russ, I was confident that Centriq would give me the skills to be successful in the IT industry.
Q: What class has been your favorite so far?
A: I really enjoyed our final group project. I feel that it gave our class the chance to finally see how everything we were taught comes together. It gave us good hands-on experience and practice as a team. It also challenged us to go beyond what our instructors taught us and problem-solve various things that are relevant to the work place.
Q: What do you hope to do after Centriq?
A: After Centriq I plan on hitting the ground running and making an immediate impact wherever I find myself. I desire to work for a smaller company that I will be able to grow with and build relationships with the people I work with. A major goal of mine would be to find something in the medical industry, more specifically research of dementia and Alzheimer’s disease, because I have a great interest in that and would love to contribute to finding a cure for that.
Q: What other interests do you have?
A: I am an avid outdoorsman; I love to hunt and fish. I enjoy spending time with my wife and our 2 dogs. I like to play the guitar when I find some spare time and always enjoy watching football & basketball.
