“I’m just your average computer nerd that thought a change in careers from something that I don’t enjoy to a subject that I love seemed to be in order. I’ve been working in the retail industry for 12 years now, and while it’s been good to me, it’s been feeling more and more lately like something it’s time to move away from. Centriq has been a great option to getting the education I need to make a move happen in a short time. I hope to have a long career in the IT field working with computers and the people who run them.”

Q: Why did you decide to come to Centriq?
A: I came to Centriq after hearing multiple spots on the radio about the TechSmart KC program. It was time for a career change for me from the retail environment that I’ve been in and a fast program like Centriq seemed just the thing for me. I’ve always enjoyed computers and helping people, so it was a great match.

Q: What class has been your favorite so far?
A: So far in the program I’ve really enjoyed everything. Learning new things has always been great, but I have to say out of everything I think that subnetting has been my favorite subject so far. It’s interesting to see how to parcel up something so large like a network and mold it to what you want.

Q: What do you hope to do after Centriq?
A: My hope is to find a place that I can call my home career-wise for many years to come. I’m enjoying the challenges of IT so far and think I’ve found my niche.”

Q: What other interests do you have?
A: I have to say reading and playing games would have to be my favorite things to do on spare time. MMOs, FPS, RPGs and fantasy novels tend to be my escape when time permits.
