Michael O'Dell

“I’m 31 and I have a wife and four kids. I have spent the past 11 years in construction as a tile setter. It was challenging for awhile but, without many innovations and being at top wage 3 yrs into my career, it grew to be boring and a dead-end. I had to make a change. After some research, I chose to study Network Administration. Now that I have received part of my training at Centriq, I’m sure that I have made the right decision. I’m very excited to start a new career in computer networking.”

Q: Why did you decide to come to Centriq?
A:  I decided to come to Centriq because I felt the hands on training would be a better way to become prepared for a new career in IT.

Q: What class has been your favorite so far?
A:  I really enjoyed Configuring IP and Creating DHCP Infrastructure. I liked working with the binary equations and creating IP schemes for networks.

Q: What do you hope to do after Centriq?
A: After Centriq I hope to get a job in networking and gain some more experience, but my long term plan might be to become a Network Architect.

Q: What other interests do you have?
A: I am a runner. I ran the 2009 Denver Marathon and I am planning on running in one per year after I finish school. I also like hiking, fishing, and camping. My favorite place to vacation is Colorado and I try to go there at least once a year.
