Here are answers to some of the most frequently asked questions. If you have additional questions, or you would like to request information, call (913) 322-7000 or email us at TechSmartKC@Centriq.com
TechSmart KC is a series of classes taken in a short amount of time compared to 'traditional' education, and is designed to prepare you to start a career in IT. Students generally graduate daytime TechSmart KC programs in approximatley four to six months. Classes are also at night so there is often no need to quit current employment.
TechSmart KC contains as many hours of instructor led training as a full semester of college, they are just taken in an accelerated time frame. For example, a community college may offer a course only three hours on Tuesdays and Thursdays. At Centriq our classes generally run from 8:30 AM to 4:30PM Monday through Friday.
Most of our students are interested in obtaining training and getting back into the job market as soon as possible. That's the primary reason to accelerate the training. However, technology changes quickly. In a two or four year program, by the time you graduate, the technology you have learned is probably already outdated. The TechSmart KC program is completed over a few months so you can be reasonably certain that the technology you are learning will still be in demand at the conclusion of the training program.
